Really though, I’d imagine the amount of fun to be had depends largely on the design on the chair. The standard sort of locks probably wouldn’t be very good, but there are models with real brakes that would seem to let you descend in a bit more sporting fashion.

Awesome!  True story: when my daughter was little and rode on my lap, we used to fly down hills with her yelling “bonsai!” And flailing her arms. We loved to see how many people below us would panic.
